not interpreting the tones properly suffer from a bit of tinitus and certain sounds don't register properly

Hi Ray, you can also turn off the Iron Volume so that it does not give you any grunts or buzzes. Lots of iron can be a useful hint that there is at least past habitation that may have left other metallic items in amongst it all, so most XP users prefer to hear it in the background and you just get used to it. I keep my headset volume at 51, good luck Liam ::g

on basic 1 if its shallow and big iron with the iron volume down still get a tone

I don't knock Iron.

Its a indicator that over the years folks have made good use of the site.

With patience the goodies will surface and thats where the Deus super fast recovery speed comes into play. ;) Jerry.

air test with i piece of steel i dug up yesterday on basic prog 1 at reads 93 at 8 inches ,and 98 with the cartwheel penny but audio was not as loud :-/

50p does not register on the numbers scale at 8 inches and registers deep on the non ferrous side of the horse shoe at all times iron volume turned off..

i get the same readings if i use the ws5 phones as i do on the control box

Ray i was digging all kinds of iron when i got mine and coke all the time took me about 2 month to learn the sounds now i hardly dig coke or iron. ::g

the piece which i thought was steel turns out to be brass after i scraped the black paint off it ,L shaped 4inches by inch and a half with a hole in the bend section ,must have been from the power lines that go across the fields to our house =)) =)) =))

if i up the disc to 40 it gets rid of the steel and turn the iron vol to 2 that gives the iron buzz all other coins are then detected ...

prog 5 seems to give the best response on different metals ::g ::g
