There is a few g difference.. I try to work it out..
50 gram more is the 11" coil vs the Standard 9"
11" is 415 g + 60 g coil cover

9 " 392 gram + 44 gram Coilcover.. = 436
11" 415 gram + 60 gram Coilcover... = 475
Difference is 39 gram..

I have both and I don't think there's any difference in depth...the only advantage to the 11 inch coil is it covers more ground but most of the land I go on is very noisy so I find myself using the 9 inch coil more. Its also easier on stubble too....

Thanks for the detailed weight overview.

That's no noticeable difference at all, 39 grams.

As with all changes to a detector there will be advantages and also disadvantages, most people only look at the advantages, I'll explain.
9" coil will be better depth on smaller targets, amongst junk & lighter
11" coil will be better depth on larger targets on clean ground and slightly heavier
Thanks Nigel that's great advice.

Hi. I have been using the 9" coil for my last few outing, initialy because I was searching various stubble sites and found it easier swinging. Ive continued using it on my usual seeded site and am starting to form the opinion that it is better than the 11" at finding non ferous targets. Some areas of my sites i have really methodicaly battered with the 11" coil near to where i found gold and was pretty confident using various programs that I've removed all good targets. Today I go back with the 9" using the same program dig a old penny and Tombac buton within 6 feet of where i found the gold noble. I find it alittle disconcerting to be finding targets like that in an area i have really spent some time searching. Apart from this i reckon i am recovering more decent targets using this smaller coil. Now the big question is. Is the small coil better at finding targets within its depth range than the 11"? Or is it another factor influencing my success with it?
Cheers andy

Are you using GPS and 10 or less sek tracking... Then you will notice any small detours from your "in mind" track.. I often look back and spot my "missed spots"
