Quest Q40 on new fields near Hull

Post by cussler » Wed Aug 01, 2018 8:28 pm

Hi all at last some of the crop is being cut on some of my permissions ,rape is always the first to be cut but those stokes are deadly as I am sure some of you will know . The Quest Q40 with the small coil (Blade) is great for going in-between them, have had permission on these fields near Beverly for a while know just waiting for the crops to be cut the farmer says they have never be detected so Grott and I had great hopes. Well after a days detecting I was not disappointed some nice finds and really we have not even scratched the surface yet .Quest Q40 did very well in between the stokes and to say the soil is still very dry, settings were Jewellery mode and sensitivity set at 80 was using my new full size over the ear wireless headphones for the first time ,my own personal view is that they are better than the small on the ear phones that come with the Q40 you can hear the fainter singles better. The copper object is very interesting because I think it could possible be smelting ,if it is then it would suggest that this area has bronze age connections any views on this more than welcome.

Good going, that's a lot of holes, that looks like copper alloy smelting waste to me as well, I must admit my Q40 has surprised me with its depth in this dry soil :D and
Good luck ::g
