Bronze (?) fragment, buckle piece ID'd

Post by howard86 » Sun Aug 12, 2018 11:42 pm

Hi all,

I found this on a field that's turned up the odd Roman thing, hammered and the usual Georgian/Victorian bits and bobs. It has recently been combined and in stubble. I don't remember any vdi numbers but it wasn't found very deep like everything that's been found from it recently.

I tried last week to get it ID'd but no luck so took some new pictures, and gave it a slight clean.

The reverse I didn't photo before, but might help with an ID as it has a distinct hole in it. The front has a dotted pattern and the design made me think initially of a bracelet, unless it's from some kind of huge buckle. But I guess the reverse and its hole will help with whatever it is.

Sorry for the blurry picture, my camera has a mind of it'sown it seems :-/

Thanks if anyone has any ideas ::g
