Further to my last post regarding chattering the machine seems to have calmed itself down thank goodness. With less than 3 hours experience with it and a rally on Saturday I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with the following. I intend on using P2 , when I was out a few days ago I was digging coke, so my question is how or is it possible to discrim it or any similar junk on the ws5 headphones. Basically what is going to make my life easier on the day and have me digging less tat -=+:-P

I've been told by a hardcore deus user that they have found more gold than me because they dig coke! Apparently some ancient gold will give the same sort of signal as it so maybe not a bad thing digging it?

Unless you are on a coke infested site it isn’t an issue. Digging it though is just something you occasionally will do. It is a signal you learn to hear and know after a while.

But anyway I don’t then walk way from it, I generally still dig it. I’ve had a few Roman coins that gave a definite coke sound.

Its the higher frequencies that create a big coke problem so sticking to a lower frequencies helps if you do hit upon a badly infested area.

cheers Phil and Oxgirl, that's interesting. I guess if it doesn't give an iron tone then dig it. At the bare minimum I'll burn off my summer cider belly

Hi. I've had my Deus light for about two months now and have been out nearly every day with it. I, too am using P2 almost exclusively at the moment, 3 tones, and they do take some getting used to. Big iron normally just gives me a really horrible 'grunt', but the mid tone can be quite deceiving. I have dug hardly any iron, but am still digging the iffy mid tones which can 'waver' a bit. but sometimes turn up coins and buttons. What I am finding is that a really steady high tone finds lots of bits of drinks cans and silver paper, just a case of practice, practice, practice I suppose.

Sorry, further to my reply above, have you taken the coil cover off and given it and the coil a clean, sometimes a bit of muck in between the two makes it chatter.
