My advice to you when it comes to recharables is not just brand but "mAh" Capacity

You will find it on all packs of recharables. and the very minimum you should go for is 2300mAh in an AA battery.

"... you can get cheaper Rechargeable batteries. I paid only £x.00 for mine !!"

"Yes, but the cheaper one may be 1250mAh compared to 2500mAh"

This is the capacity I believe. ::g :D :E

Eneloop Pro for me.
Initially expensive but very good and they hold their charge while stored.

I totally agree with Saki's post above.
I've just gone through the minefield of rechargeable batteries and the information out there is the more powerful the gadget is, the more powerful battery is needed to power it. To power a metal detector effectively, you need a high mAh.
I settled on Energizer 2300mAh.

He wanted rechargeables. "Energizer Ultimate Lithium" are not rechargeable.

And Regarding capacity:
You don't need the highest capacity. They are rechargeable, if they've gone flat, recharge them. Getting the maximum capacity ones is only really of use if you're using a high-drain machine, such as some of the Minelab BBS/FBS ones, and you want to run for many hours, perhaps on a rally weekend. There are many good quality cells, particularly the LSD (low self-discharge) types, that have capacities of 1800 - 2100 mAh ( including the previously-mentioned Eneloops ), it would be a bad choice to disregard these, just because they weren't the highest capacity.

Many modern machines are very frugal with the electricity. Even rubbish cells will run for 20 hours in a Teknetics T2, as an example, and the popular ACE250 is also similar. Bear this in mind when choosing batteries.

In my opinion, when I had a machine that required batteries, I found Varta batteries are by far the best. They were better than other bigger names, and cheaper ::g
