Just found this on a new permission,next pasture down from my most successful field.

Very nice find, especially with enamelling left.
Face is very Easter Island ish and also would not be out of place on a Totem pole.

I do like me a bit of limoges. Excellent find. Never found any as good as that.

That can only be described as a great find. It's something high on my wish list.

What a great find and in such superb condition. The P.A.S. will be sure to enter that on its file, just make sure you get it back and as spearhead has said, it will be outstanding mounted as a showpiece.

Was immediately struck how impressive this find was,even before any cleaning.
Something about the soil here preserves enamelling,yet chews up copper coins.
Think I can get away with a bit more gentle cleaning tonight.

A Limoges casket mount.

I found one of those a few years ago near Pontefract.

They are regarded as of being 'regional importance' by the FLO.
