Small Hammy for ID if poss? [Edward IV York penny]

Post by staters quo »

Well that was an interesting morning. The farmer calls me, says "We've cut down the trees behind the workshop - do you want to have a scan before we put hardcore on top?" Followed by, "And we've removed the top ten inches of top soil."

Half an hour later I was down there and set up - running ahead of the rain forecast for this morning.

Anyway, this was one of those moments you couldn't make up - switched on the Deus, swung it down to my right - and there it was, a hammy on the surface, first signal, hadn't even taken a step. Unbelievable. I could have just gone home there and then, a hammy within 2 seconds. Glad I didn't though as a curious ring also popped up within ten minutes (it's on another ID request or will be imminently).

Found with a Deus on Ultimate at 25 k frequency (desperate attempt to escape EMI from the welder in the workshop). Lying on the surface. I think I spy a quatrefoil on the reverse but beyond that I'm a bit stumped. Scale is in mm, it's 14mm across.

Thanks SQ

Looks like either a Henry VI or an Edward IV penny? I'd wait for a proper ID though! :D
