Please help with lead knob information

Post by Toot »

HI everyone...this may be something of nothing. I came across a lead little knob. In a meadow in Leicestershire. I cannot seem to find anything on the internet about old lead knobs.
I am interested in the history when we stopped using lead knobs. I am new to this hobby and I’m having great fun with my Garrett Ace 330i. It’s definitely finding things but not been lucky with the quality of little coins I am finding. Usually no patina left and nothing much to identify them. still sooo much fun.
Can anyone help me understand a little more about this lead knob. I’m computer illiterate so bear with me with the pics. 😭😭
Thank you for reading.x Toot.
