Calm before the storm (new pic)

Had a day off work today so I thought i would go out detecting
as it looks like this weekend is going to be wet and windy
So out first thing on the field by 6.30
Set off from the corner a couple of buttons then a small roman coin happy days 👍
A hour or so later with not much to show I had a banging signal and out popped
A small spoon not see one like it before
That was followed by a enameled button thing were looking up
One of the next finds was a cracking roman brooch complete with the pin 😀
When I was on the way back to the car a managed a roman grot
So all in all not a bad day

Spoon is a modern seed drill spoon but the brooch is great, a lovely chunky trumpet brooch :D :D ::g

The advantage of being the early worm has proved itself with that cracking brooch Bencal::g
The 'spoon' could be a small seed drill scoop? All told, an excellent session so very well done sir

Lovely finds. The enamel bit looks more like part of a cuff link to me. ::g

Oh, my word what a brooch x;

I'm hoping to repeat your "beat Dennis" plan by snaffling a couple of hours before being blown all over the gaff this morning. If I can repeat your find as well then all will be well with the world and Dennis can do its worst ::g

I’d be a bit more interested in the enamelled Mount. That’s a bit different ::g

Like the brooch as well though. Lucky to find a complete one.

With its pin still intact ::g
