Roman Denarius - Posible Forgery But a Good One!

Our first outing since the 'Lockdown' was eased.

The long wait was well worth it with 7 Medieval hammered coins, 4 denarii, 23 Roman bronze coins, a trumpet brooch, several artefacts and 147 sherds of Roman and Medieval pottery being recovered.

The full story and pictures will follow as soon as I can sort out the photos.

One of the denarii was encrusted with a brown coating so it had to be cleaned for ID purposes.
The coin turned out to be of Caracalla dating to 200 AD.
