Metal Detecting

Hit the beach today at 4.45am.
Large passenger liner anchored in the bay, as the mist cleared a 2nd liner further out, unusual for Bournemouth to have 2. They were the P&O Arcadia & Aurora.
Dry sand as usual with the 400i, inland settings of Custom mode, 2 off Max sensitivity, Iron Audio off and Discrim below 60.
Managed to do the area I wanted to try 3 weeks ago but was denied by the presence of tents. Today the beach was clear, even saw a couple of Police on foot patrol.
Alas the area only turned up 2x 20p. Decided to head West but not as far as I normally go. After a couple of hours, only had 4 coins, which was to be the days takings of 1 pound 60p.
Had a little Silver coloured Heart shape pendent and what I thought was a Gold ring, alas it was only Gold colour.

Spent the last Half an hour trying to find a set of keys, for a guy. Had lost them on the beach previous evening and was now locked out of car and home. Failed to find those.
Left the beach at 7.45am, starting to get hot, pocket full of bottle tops, 42, ring pulls etc.

Beach was nice and peaceful compared to 3 weeks ago and virtually spotless. Even more spotless with the removal of 42 bottle tops.

In the main my local beaches have been equally unproductive. The difference is that whereas your junk is mostly bottle caps mine is fishing weights, which at least have a residual value of about 10p each as scrap metal.

Do find fishing weights occasionally around 3 miles away.
Gave a guy at work 20 or so last month, all 6oz`ers
Reckon there should be a Blue Peter Appeal , for bottle tops.

Even if not the most productive session its alwaya nice to get out in the fresh air.

The ring looked nice, just a shame its not gold, but I expect it got the heart going a bit faster for a minute.

There were at least 6 ships in Weymouth Bay the other day, its all due to the virus and the shipping companies having to "park" them somewhere and its a nice sheltered location.

82/3 but not Gold.
