Newbie Epping/Ongar/Harlow/Dunmow areas

OK, I'm new to the hobby, but very enthusiastic.
I have a Viking VK30 and one of those GP Pointers to start me off.
I can't offer any permissions, as I don't have any, but maybe you do and you want some company or help?
I am good at research, have a keen interest in history and also archaeology, although both strictly amateur. I could be quite helpful looking at maps and comparing them through the ages maybe.
I am working on getting some permissions of my own, but this is a heavily subscribed area.
