Brilliant find, everyones dream and good promotion for our hobby, I am off out right now, spotted a ploughed over field boundary on Google Earth on one of my fields, using the time slider, has a faint marking titled "for hoard, dig here" whatever that means =)) =)) =))
Thanks for posting the news item, Liam B-)

Great stuff, amazing how many times Hoards from the 3rd Century pop up close to a Fort site - yet often the Forts weren't still in use in the 3rd Century!

“Normally when you get a really big signal from the detector it means you’ve come across some rubbish but you have to check anyway.

“I dug down about 10 or 12 inches and about 900 coins came up in one go. I was quite gobsmacked I couldn’t believe it was really happening.”

TBH i would usually ignor such a signal, if they had been scattered its a different story.

More proof than ever of the old "dig everything" credo...........which is why it usually takes me 24 hours to recover from a session of arm swinging!! =))
