An intact one would have been symmetrical and possibly a leather strap fixing it to the wrist through the loops.

Not after a postcode pal but where roughly did this come from?
I mean you might be in Denmark which would kinda make this impressive but maybe not so much as if you found it say in Devon.

They seem to be in a a regular pattern so I believe it is decoration.

We find relatively much viking stuff here in Finland although there were no actual vikings living here, except some individual mercenaries etc. But there was a lot of trading with them, furs especially. We get quite a lot of coins from that era, middle eastern dirhems and Cologne pennies for example.

About the bracelet I don't know. It could be viking import or locally made from silver traded from them. I hope the archeologists can determine it's origins.

My ignorance is showing now, I always assumed the Finns where of Viking stock. I worked in Spain for a few years innthe mid 90's in a resort popular among Scandinavians. I dated a Norweigian chick and one of my besties was a Dane. We never exactly sat discussing origins but I concluded that the Danes, Swedes and Norwegians looked upon the Finns as their slightly batty cousins.

I'm now going to look into tour history a bit more, thanks and again thanks for sharing.
