Partifact for ID

Post by LemuelNZ »

Not sure if this is something interesting or not, but figured that there's enough of it there that hopefully some kind soul might be able to tell me what it is.

Found with my Vanquish 540 on pasture in Cornwall, not particularly close to any known farmhouse or settlement. Around 5 or 6 inches deep.

Had someone suggest possibly part of a stirrup, someone else thought maybe a watch winder?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Part of a simple key perhaps?

Hi
I think it’s a fragment of a barrel tap key.
It’s too thin to be part of a stirrup.
Cheers, Ruth

Edit: eg
