Small artefact with what looks like a face for ID please.

Out this afternoon on a field which has had sheep grazing on turnips, the field is close to were I live and when I saw that the sheep had been taken off I decided to have a few hours on it. Unfortunately on closer inspection the turnips were still of a height which made detecting a challenge, still gave it a couple of hours, a fair few non ferrous targets mainly bits of lead and plenty of buttons, a few toasted copper coins. I also dug this artefact in the photos below, at the time I didn't take an in field photo as it was caked in hard crud. What made me keep it instead of putting in the rubbish pouch was in the past I had found a Saxon pin head from the same field and this was more or less the same size and shape. When I arrived back home I set about carefully taken of the hardened crust to my surprise what looks like a figure head materialised. So fellow members another pin head? If not what could it be, as you can see its quite small. Ta for looking. [81/]

Yes, leans towards pip tamper but looks very ancient indeed, great patina, super find, Liam [81/]
