Metal Detecting

Newb with Nokta Makro legend on wet beach settings. Estuary mudflat/wet beach. Depth around 4 inches plus on both.
One is a copper nail in situ with other piece of copper and another nail hole, apologies for scale but I cant lie it flat. Probably from a boat but I wondered about a rough dating?

The other, completely baffled, blackish with maybe a tinge of green, heavyish metal non magnetic, not soft like lead. Been worked going by flat edge, curve and `teeth` and perhaps the two blobs are/were connectors on rear.

Could the item be a denticulate scraper? Having read a bit more around the net there are descriptions but no pics I can find of earlier metal scrapers. The blobs being part of fairly crude smelting?? Thanks for any help or ideas

It`s going off to treasure trove for assessment. Solid 38 reading on the Nokta indicates copper alloy maybe??

My guess is magnetite coated bronze, there`s black sand in abundance nearby and I found a hot rock probably coke nearby as well. Whether deliberately magnetite coated or corrosion process from the mud and sand we`ll see.

Thanks that's a good shout.

Whilst the GC is indeed a possibility it seems unnecessarily heavy based on examples I've found/seen.
It's also not 'waisted' to provide a 'pair-drop' shape which where most have. The two protrusions on the rear suggest (to me) they're the remains of attachment lugs to indicate your item may be a decorative harness adornment
Obviously, the missing section would have held more precise clues! Cheers Eric
