Missing Targets

Hi everyone,I am wondering if I am missing a lot of possible finds with my Deus which I have had for a few months, when you get a very slight indication on the non ferrous side of the horse shoe and no number on the screen is it because the target is deep and I should dig it? and also does the volume of the tone vary according to depth.
Thanks for any help
Geoff

In my experience only.........this is where it can get a bit hit n miss, I'm now getting used to working with tone only.... so I'm getting used to the type of tones that you are refering to, checking the vdu on occasions to see if I'm on the same wave length as the deus... Now when I worked with vdu, the deeper targets were 'usually' as you say when deep, If I were detecting on loose soil, then I would be scraping the top surface off with my foot, swing over again and you may get a vdu reading and better tone, as you say small blip on non ferrous tells me I'm going to investigate, unless its flashing from side to side on the vdu. if i'm on pasture or hard ground I would take a few cm out and swing over again......this does generally alter the tone also... hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.......

Thanks Kmarsh,That`s what I thought, but for some reason I could`nt work out why the volume of the tone would change regardless of depth.(seems I am going to do a lot more digging).
Thanks Again
Geoff
