The Best Part Of The Beach For Rings?

I go to a beach that has a flat top section, seldom covered by the tide and then a steep slope down to the waters edge at low tide.
I've had lots of finds but only two rings. These were about two feet apart, totally unconnected and found at the same time, both 2 inches down in fine shingle at the high tide mark.
Is this a where they should be found or is there a better place to find rings on the beach. My Garrett Ace 150 works well in wet sand and shallow water producing coins and ammo but no rings.
On dry sand I search in all metal mode on full strength and in the wet in jewellry mode on 3 bars.
Any advice would be greatfully recieved.
