First time beach detecting -Tenby

Hi, I'm away in Pembrokeshire for a few days.
I managed to phone around and get permission on a farm but he's let me on one ploughed which is still too lumpy and a stubble field which I checked out for an hour before dark tonight and there were absolutely no signals. Nothing to indicate any hope of a nice find
I've got zero beach experience but low tide is around midday tomorrow so in to Tenby for a good breakfast then down to the beach to follow the tide out
Anyone got any tips for this beach?
