Nev, it looks like you are really enjoying your time on Filey beach, nice to see some older coins coming up it looks promising.

Stu are you working the area known as 'The Tents' ?
http://www.francisfrith.com/filey/photo ... 50_f23122/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; if so there is a story behind all that scrap copper and brass
I detected that area on Filey beach and other beaches along with a local over a long period of time in the 90's, all the non ferrous we dug up from that and other beaches got put in buckets in a place near the beach at the end of every session. Over the years we had collected several buckets full of the stuff. Another detectorist came on the scene regularly and managed to upset my mate for some reason then one day he just lost it and spread all the buckets of scrap back on the beach.
I lost interest in that area after that as I could not bear the thought of having to dig up that lot again

Certain areas its hard getting a spade in with large rocks over 12 inchs wide. so dont bring a Sandscoop! lol. Same area last week i could hardly get any signals. I need to learn how to reduce the size of my pics. This is the only site i,ve used where they come up as file to large
