Metal Detecting

hi all,me and my boy went to west wittering beach today.nice beach,but lots of junk.
we were there for 5 hours and found:£2.52,lots of foil,lots of bottle caps,lots and lots of metal tent pegs..
before we left we drove to the end of the road and found another beach..with loads of people on it....
we,ll do that beach next time.
even tho we didn't find much we still had fun,but I need to find a way to make my euro ace work on wet sand,it was beeping all over the place....

I've done West Wittering a few times and it does seem to be a tent peg scrap yard. I've not found anything of interest/worth there to date, but it does seem to be a very 'dirty' beach.

used to go to west wittering as a kid, was a decent chip shop right near the beach, few years back though

2.52 better than nought will have to head down there myself some time, been there once and was really nice.

think euro's are just doomed on wet sand am afraid. could turn it down to like 2 bars of sensitivity but am not sure how deep the detector goes at that level lol!

Hi ya, we kept the euro on all metal, notched out the first 2 and then turned down the sensitivity till it settled down, ended up using just 4 bars on the sensitivity, but still was very chatery. Found one of our pound coins in the wet stuff, 3 inchs down...
Shall keep on the dry sand next time tho.

I went there once many years ago ,it didnt start well my dog was sick everywhere on the way down ,the tide was in and a gale blowing ,found nothing but ring pulls and lumps of iron ,not a good day
