The Best of 2014 ( so far)

Hi all, had a pretty amazing start to 2014, all the following were found in the first couple of weeks of January after the stormy weather. A good section of the top of the beach was stripped of sand, lots of clay showing but the majority came out of pockets of pebbles which seemed to be natural gathering points for all the heavier stuff. Very, very hard digging, would like to say a big thankyou to Evolution for producing such a fantastically tough Sand Scoop.Actually bent two metal handles so at some point i am going to have to find a handle that is a bit more durable.
Apart from what is in the Photos i probably had about another 20 or so silver coins, but in much worse shape. About 50 or 60 quid in spendables,and a bucket full of lead, bullets, shrapnel and all the other beach rubbish!
My favorite find is the William and Mary 1689 Half crown, closely followed by the Victoria 1875 Half Crown, considering how many coins come out as blanks i cant get over how good the condition is.
Most amazing day was the four ring day, which are the four rings in the top left corner. Started out at 5am, dark and cold. First few hours wasn't finding much and my first scoop handle was becoming very bent and had come loose so was making digging difficult. Frustration was starting to set in as it sometimes can and after having just dug up a rather large piece of shrapnel i'd now hit a very large signal a few feet further on( i should point out i use the CS 4PI) Great another lump of shrapnel i thought, sod it,i'm not digging that up and turned to walk away.I took a step and then i thought no, come on Dave, thats not the attitude, dig everything is my motto.So back i turn and start digging. A couple of scoops out and i check the pile, got a signal there so after a quick rummage out pops a nice little gold band! Wow, i think, i nearly walked away from that! Double check the hole before i move on, another signal in there so start to dig that one out and as i do so i think to myself 'wouldn't it be funny if thats another gold ring and i nearly walked away from a two ring hole'! And guess whats suddenly glinting at me from the next scoop full? A two ring hole!!!! x; So now i move on, my mood has improved suddenly. About two foot and i hit another signal, quick dig and i dont believe it,theres a nice little gold ring. My first three ring day!!I move on again, about another two feet and boom another signal! Three scoops out and theres a nice old penny looking at me, but whats that glinting at me out of the side of the pile? Four gold in one day, three and a half hours of frustration and 20 minutes of absolute wonder. I love this hobby.
The 1904 half Sov was just plain lucky. Icing on the cake though. Had a nice Viccy half Sov off the same beach a year ago but had too sell it due to my being broke and have always regretted it so to pull out another one, to me is just awesome.
Well thats about it, i hope no one thinks i'm bragging, i'm not trying to show off or anything, i just wanted to show whats there to be found if you have the patience, the perseverance, the right kit and best of all alot of luck. Happy hunting to you all.
P.s I nearly forgot the Cobs! How about that! Pirate Treasure! Its like being a kid again! n;

Yep the cobs are all silver, keep hoping there are some gold ones down there but that might just be wishful thinking. But you never know. It truely is amazing what can turn up on a beach, if you can catch it at the right time. It also helps if you have a couple of weeks off work!

Yes and doesn't my back just know it! Wouldn't change it for the world though. I've read your posts with interest Pav and i know you will pull out the good stuff in time, love the fact that you get the kids involved.
