Today on the East Coast

Today started well making some lines.

but then the tide came in.....
and then the rain came in...

Now I'm sat in the car wondering whether to get my waterproofs on and go back into the storm, or clear off home with only junk to show for my efforts.

:-( I had high hopes today. At least the scenery is great. I often forget how beautiful Yorkshire is, I'm certainly guilty of taking it all for granted sometimes.

Hi IFN, The lines are a great idea and that's a great 'scoop' too. As you say, the scenery can speak for itself. Hope you had a good session when the sun came out!! ::g

Looks like a nice spot to be in at least. Was out in garden this morning & the sun was burning my neck, was gonna nip to beach for a quick sortie, glad I didn't as its now thunder & lightening and torrential rain, don't you just love the British weather ::g

So... the rain stopped and the sun shone. I spent until 9pm detecting and it was glorious. Only reason I stopped was because my batteries died and the car was too far away to bother getting more.

I've been busy :-)

Bag for the day!
Loads of heavy weights, that's about it other than £1+ modern coinage, a brass leaf thingy and two aluminium buttons or something. All in all pretty boring.... but a nice day.

Brownie points to whoever names the East Coast bay. Here's another photo clue...

True. After the first low tide session this morning, I was a bit bored and fed up. No signals hardly.... not even junk.
Then when I walked back to car I just stopped and gazed at it all from on high... everything was suddenly right with the world :-)

Oh and I found this, which as I understand is a Gibraltar pound coin?
Image not the one I found, but its in decent condition.

So, not all is lost. Better than a UK £1 :-/

Glad you eventually had a nice day at Robin Hood's Bay :D

Strange thing with those Gibraltar Pounds, in Gib they will accept our British coins and notes but you try an spend a Gib coin in this country.

The reason they accept GB pounds is because it is an international trading currency which all banks will accept ::g
