Had the deus lite just over a week now been out twice with it the first time was for an hour the 2nd 3 hrs, being the deus lite I am limited compared to the full deus. I have been mainly on prog3 with 3 tones (still cant get my head around the tones yet but its a learning curve). Would you use 3 tones or just two or other what are the advantages of prog 1 over prog 3 ? I am just trying to work out what and when to use the various settings

You are right to keep it simple for a while using factory presets.

I would use Deus Fast programme 3 or GMP programme 2.

Use 2 tones for starters but when you are confident use Full tones.

Try the GMP at 12 kHz on pasture and the Deus Fast on stubble and rolled fields with its very faster recovery speed.

I use a full kit so have not had your experiences.

Jerry.

Thx for the replies guys, I was told last week that two tones was in effect one and three tones in effect two (dont make sense to me that one dont). I plan on sticking with the presets but would you change the discrimination? I am on rolled stubble tomorrow and was going to just go on prog 3 but increase the discrimination seeing as im not after depth. What are your thoughts?

This is where you will get the hot program.
It's what I use most of the time as well ::g ::g
And I personally wouldn't increase the disc too high, as you could loose some good finds.
