Metal Detecting

Well a few weeks ago after a few hours it started false signaling. So gave up for the day went out again and it's fine for a few hours and then it goes mad. Just constant chatter and false signaling

Has anyone else had issues like this? It ruined today's hunt :-(

Sounds like something terminal with the coil... if its under warranty I would be getting it seen to immediately... and if its not under warranty I would still be sending it back to the bench. Regtons are brilliant if you got it from there, a quick phone call and its plain sailing from there.

try reset to factory settings first

Had this happen a few times with mine also the same problem came up with several other Deus owners on the XP Forum. My Deus is ok now after I was advised to move my mobile phone away from the Deus control unit ( not sure if this was the problem but it has not done it since ) Also try turning it off and on again.

I know this is about a Deus, but check the battery isnt breaking down or not holding its charge...
In Minelabs this chattering and falsing can be caused by the rechargeable battery coming to the end of its life....

The deus is 7 months old. And phone isn't close to it. I've spoke to regtons but i could be with out my coils for a few weeks.. And it's the time off year when all the ploughing gets done..

But it's not right so I'll get it sent off :-(

Do you have more than one coil? When my AT Pro played up ... i sent on the Monday, they tested it on the Tuesday, and i had a new coil beck by the Wednesday... (its not meant to sound like a song) ... but I was out again on Sunday!!! <:-P <:-P

Regtons really are top when it comes to customer service, and being detectorists themselves know how important a very quick turn around is...

When I sent mine back to Regtons they kindly sent me a replacement to use while it was being fixed And a speedy delivery B-)

Mine done the same yesterday, my 11inch just started doing it all of a sudden. Went back to the car to get the 9inch coil and it was like heaven. Only got the coil about 6 months ago. Phoned discount detecting yesterday and was advised to drop the sensitivity. Its never been as bad as it was yesterday, it was unusable. Its going back, I'm so glad I kept my 9inch coil

Mine does the same. Suddenly goes crazy. Constant buzzing even when I point it to the sky. Prob not the best idea but a quick whack against my boot or a stone usually stops it for a few hrs. It's definitely the coil and not my settings.

I'm going to put it back to v2 today just to see if it makes a difference.. Gagging to get out as the sun is shining...

I wouldnt jump to conclusions because of a few faults ... there are thousands of the things out there running without a hitch!!
