Hi folk, after years of pondering I have finally bought a deus lite with ws5 phones. My first impression is fast but no real depth. It would be helpful if xp had a programme share built into the headphones so you could swap programmes over the internet, but then less people would buy the controller at an extra £500 . I will have to wait until a dig comes along and get someone who has a full set up to drop a deep programme onto my phones :-( if anyone has the lite set up which is the deepest of the 10 preset's. Thanks in advance, jim

Great idea sharing setups over the internet, ive only had my Deus a matter of a couple of months and am still learning the preloaded programs and learning to trust what the Deus is telling me although I still have to have a dig at the occasional bad signals just to be on the safe side.

It is a very well thought out product, as I can walk to the local field without feeling like a pack horse. I will continue to go through the presets and work out which does the business. And who knows if xp launch a new detector they might show pity on the less wealthy and reduce the price on the control box :-)

Just had an hour in basic one. And got a lot more depth. Still hitting loads of ring pulls and bottle caps. I think this is going to be a long learning curve or save for a remote

If there are ring pulls & bottle caps there, you do want to be digging them - they come up as similar signals to hammereds & other decent finds.

Since I have changed to Full Tones its like a new machine....
I dig a lot in Wales in pasture and on my permissions everything seems to have gone deep.
On a dead field I have had 4 coins at 10" and a very thin hallmarked silver band from a walking
stick, about 6"
Next job is to lay a new test bed with various targets including iron and rubbish to help me get used to the sounds.
It must be working because now I don't look at the numbers, just listen for the tones.
It may help you if your on a Deus lite.
Full tones and turn the silencer off if you can get to it.
Good hunting.

Cheers ayit, that seems to be the most recommended setting, full tones and either basic 1 or gm. A few folks have phoned or mailed me to steer me in the right direction and all advice is taken in and appreciated
