I seem to be having a problem with charging my coil, let me explain, when I charged my coil this evening after a days detecting, the control box and headphones are ok and the coil showed fully charged, however after 2 hours I on turned on the detector the indicator on the R.C says the coil is now down to less than a quarter charged, sometimes it is ok for example for 5 days which first lead me to think had I charged it or had I forgotten to. I have had the detector for 2 years and bought it from new 18.11 2014, I have had to return it once before as the coil went dead on me in the field and would not charge this was in Feb this year, before I make contact to the suppliers, has anyone else experienced a similar problem and if so what was the outcome. I thought I was having a senior moment :D

Is the pins in the chargin clip in place.. If you do not have the new reinforced model ( have been out 3 months or so) the old model clip is well know for its many faults, where one of them is the pin to dissappear into the clip..

That's a possibility John as my machine is now coming up to 2 years old so I would not have had the reinforced model. I will check to see if this could be the problem and also contact the supplier to see if this is a common problem as stated before the battery was replaced in February this year.
So to you I say Tusind tak John :D

Sometimes when you take the set-up off charge the coil can remain switched on ... I think that the rule is that you switch off at the mains ... and leave for about 30 secs before disengaging all clips and plugs ... and as a double check immediately after charging ... turn the whole lot on and manually switch off the phones and box.

That also is defiantly worth a try, didn't realise that, I failed to say that due to me having trouble removing the control box from the stem, having once braking the fixing point on the stem, I generally charge the coil and the headphones first, then charge the control box as the lead is not long enough to do all 3 with R.C. in place on the stem. blimey hope that makes sense :D

Hi G, I have had my Deus from when they first came out, n V2 still and the charging pins can be awkward. However, I clean them before connecting and make sure they are correctly positioned. Re the battery life I charge after every two sessions and have the emergency charger in the glove box with other bits. I bought an extended charging lead that has FOUR attachments and that has worked perfectly, can charge all at once and plenty of cable length. See you at the December meeting, looking forward to the larger Oak Room, Liam OooO
