Ha! I posted a thread about the Thunder without realizing you'd posted this. Great minds, eh?
It looks an interesting option and on paper appears a more direct upgrade to the stock coil on my GMP than the Nel Tornado.
It isn't stocked much as far as I can see...so far at least.

Asking about the Nel Thunder seems a very popular question, (a 3rd thread was started yesterday under the Minelab Explorer subforum).
Mods: As 3 threads started in 3 days asking basically the same question is it worth merging them?
But responses seem to be very sparse, with only genuine replies to Littleboots thread

I have used the Nel Tornado coil, and like it, but not the Thunder so can not comment on it myself but assume you have all seen the official Nel page
http://nel-coils.com/index.php/en/
Interestingly although it gives the Tornado and Thunder the same ratings for sensitivity both to small and large targets (8.5 and 8 respectively), the Thunder scores better on separation (9.0 verses 8.0) and depth (8.5 verses 8.0).
What I will say having used the Tornado coil is that although the extra weight was not an issue it did change the balance of the machine, so it was not so easy to use - not an issue in a short session but I did find of it on longer sessions. So this is something that you might like to bear in mind with the Thunder.
