V4 notch, discrimination and depth

So my Deus will arrive next week. I am new to this machine but not to detecting or detectors in general. I appreciate that it is wise to start off in a factory pre-set program such as GMP, which is what I will be doing but I also want to build up a program or two of my own as the ‘tweakability’ of the detector was a big merit point for me. So a few questions regarding the application of notch in v4 please:
1, I understand that notch in the Deus is an audio filter and does not affect depth like applying normal discrimination ( according to the likes of Andy Sabisch). Is this true in your experience?
2. Discrimination ( normal) affects depth, around a 20 % reduction when discriminating iron out. Have you found this to be true? If not how would you say discrimination affects depth?
3. Using notch at what level would you set it to discriminate iron out with v4 0-10?, 0-25 a combination of notches eg 0-10 & 24-26 ( to get rid of coke). What do you use? I am really only concerned about using notch to disc out iron. I understand that using notch can blur the numbers a bit.
4. On v4 normal discrimination can go down to -6.4 ( probably unusable) but does notch also go down to -6.4 or 0 ? If notch goes down to -6.4 also would there be a depth advantage in setting notch to -6.4 up to say 15 to keep the machine be quiet?
I appreciate that not wantiing to hear iron is not trendy but some days I want a quiet life - but without loosing depth.
Replies much appreciated, thank you.
