Bronze Age Chisel

Post by supersaint » Mon Feb 12, 2018 6:58 pm

Hi All,

Found this Bronze Age Chisel yesterday with my Garrett AT Pro. Only 3 or 4 inches down.
Gave a really crisp signal in the 70's.

The field is one of those fields that keeps giving. Have found roman, one Saxon coin, medieval as well. Also found a rose farthing yesterday.

The farmer loves the idea that his field has always been used. Great History.

What a belter. As you say, it's good to have the history of a piece of land gradually unfold as the finds come up. One of my permissions was known to have had a medieval fair on it but nothing before that. However, through detecting, I've found Saxon, Roman and BA, thus taking the site back to around 1000BC so far, and the farmer is both astonished and grateful in equal parts.
