Any idea of age ?

Post by Paulandmaz »

Hey all πŸ‘‹
Found this strap end (?) In some loose soil that the farmer had dumped. It has a weeny bit of gilding by one of the rivets, which doesnt show well in the photos, and it does look like the remains of leather between the plates.
What i find so amazing is that it all still moves with ease! If anyone has an idea of age that would be great.....
(Please dont tell me that its from a pair of kids clarkes mary jane sandals, circa 1960.)

Happy easter to everyone! 🐣

I am talking legit sites like the British museum, Hanson auctions and the like not eBay or Etsy
