Anyone care to share their first impressions of the Equinox800?

Just curious if any new owners of this machine can share their thoughts/experiences so far? Doesn’t appear to be many videos on YouTube as yet and not many postings on the metal detecting websites. ::g

The eqiunox 600/800 have been commercalized and are on sale but true there does not seem to be much info from user's as of yet. I also am waiting on feed back before thinking about buying one.

Hopefully someone will post up their thoughts here soon.tm :)

I`ve had a go with a pre-production one. Tidy machine, will be great for scouting and it has some "power" behind it in Multi-IQ. Sensibly priced, its a Minelab with speed & is light.Target ID is very good.
Done a "head to head" in a well searched field against the CTX, both machines got the same signals just in different ways.
Doubtless many who have bought it will be convinced that its the best thing since they sliced the loaf.

Early next week now, very limited stock arriving in UK, so paying a deposit (50% at some dealers) still doesn't guarantee you will one of the first batch.

I think even when they are in new users hands we need to wait a few weeks for them to get a few hours in different conditions and also to allow the end user adjust to the new machines before we will start to get some solid feedback.

I wish it had GPS as it looks like apart from that it may tick most the boxes.

I know that at least one UK supplier has them in stock and a couple of people who preordered said they had recieved calls to say they were ready in the last couple of days.

So hopefully should get some real unbaised reviews very soon. But as Fireburst said to give the users a fair chance with the machine and differenct conditions will take a bit longer.

History of metal detectors tells me it's evolution not revolution, your existing machine (mine is an XP 250) will not be made redundant by the equinox. It wasn't by the Deus. Mine still finds loads. And I know it what its telling me. Why learn a new machine that may be a whole load of hype. Don't get sold on brainwashing marketing .. wait and see if it delivers in the field. Experience tells me there are other machines half the price that will do the business if you take the time to understand them properly.

Caveat emptor!!!

All the best,

The container ship with them all in is has now cleared customs in Hong Kong and is slowly chugging towards Indonesia to fill up with coal. Detectorists of the world the epic journey into your hands has begun (unless it mysteriously sinks or is hijacked by Somali pirates or whatever their next excuse for non arrival is). :D :D :D

Still nothing?

Hopefully someone will be out at the weekend and give some feedback.

Mind you as nobody has announced they're in possession of one maybe not???

As I tap this out deliveries are taking place to American customers.

Some are a bit upset as one guys is getting 2,which seems a bit unfair to those left waiting for one. ;) Happy Hunting.Jerry.

Good luck early users. Swing with that amazing Equinox reactivity to the point where your elbow snaps clean off, just don't expect your brain to compute any signals at that speed.

It's ironic that as Minelab finally starts shipping the Equinox, a lot of Deus people (myself included) are starting to realise that slowing down and using less reactivity is increasing our finds rate, especially on the small stuff.
