Yesterday i found my first George III Cartwheel and it was in pretty bad condition with a lot of green incrustation! I didn't want to electrolysis it because i don't like the shininess that it leaves when finished and i always think they don't look old. I've seen Dave's before and after pictures and i like the method because it still keeps the nice patina on the coins. Soooo i thought i would take the gamble and try it... Firstly I poured the harpic plus in a cup and dropped it in there for about 30 seconds. Then i took it out and scrubbed it with a toothbrush and washing up liquid. I then put it in boiling water to make sure the cleaning action had completely stopped... Lastly i dried it completely and then buffed it up with renaissance wax and i must say i am very pleased with the end result.
