hi all. have decided on an upgrade from the 400 to an apex, this will allow my wife use of the 400 too and have her 250 for a spare, have done hours of reading and u tube clips,i learned that even the coil lead has to be fitted a special way round the stem, but what am not sure on whats the best frequancy for pastures, or if decide on a try out on beach it seems i have a choice of 5 or 6
many thanks..dean.??
Upgrade due Friday..

Love the Apex. Had mine since it came out. On pasture i use multi frequency or 15khz. Seem to get the best results on a single frequency using 15 rather than any of the others but I guess it depends what you're after and what your grounds like. I have used multi salt mode on the beach but only a couple of times as I usually detect pasture.
Plenty of coil options too, mostly Nel. Be aware that the Nel coils for the Apex are, for some reason, blind to certain metals when in Multi Salt mode. Not a problem for me as I don't really beach detect and when I do I just use the stock viper coil (which is very good by the way, don't be put off by how small it is).

Yes the Apex uses multiflex tech so standard Ace coils don't work.
Yep, ground balance everytime I go out, doesn't take anytime at all.

well its here, i love it,smart looking and so light, they were right about the charging usb port plug, why sit it in a hole half inch down, have fingers like mars bars so have fitted a 2 inch usb ex in the hole, sat the rubber plug snug round it with a slit in center so the short lead sits in the cover and stays in place, simple plug the usb female end of charging lead and its on charge easy, i did try one a these magnet type leads but seemed a bit rubbish. just need temp up a bit now and no more snow and am away,,,

the vdi does say 28 when switched on, but only for the first couple of seconds before the screen lights up.?? these headphones without wires are great.Mattockswinga wrote: Wed Jan 18, 2023 9:18 pm Forgot to mention, make sure it's updated to v1.28.2
