Eagle spectrum Problem

Post by Jimtodd »

I have a whites eagle spectrum which I have been using for the past 25 years + in the past I have had some fantastic results but of late I have lost confidence in it, I have tried all the different programs as well as setting sensitivity on max and discrimination of but it only just detects coins on the surface when the coil is an inch or two over it, if any one has any idea as to what has gone wrong please let me know it would be much appreciated.

That's a tough call. I owned one in the past too and enjoyed it. I had difficulty in finding someone to repair an even older compass. Spectrum different again.

Best solution is to buy another one or the dfx. There's always some for sale on eBay, specs go for 150ish. Repairs are expensive too, If you can even find anyone.

After the demise of Whites the service centre in Scotland finally closed down,so basically rendering both new and older Whites machines obsolete, you may find someone who could repair if it is a very basic problem.....apart from that a company across the pond still does repair them as i understand but if you take into account the cost of the repair and shipping you might as well put it in the bin.

Hope its a simple and basic repairable issue and you can get out swinging again with it.
Equinox 6'',11'' and 15'' coils.
Deus 2 9'' coil.
Minelab GPX 14'' and 18'' Coiltek coils.
Fisher TW-5 twin box.
Nexus MP 13'' coil.
Nexus SE dual 9'' coil.
Whites TDI Pro 20'' coil.

I had one for a few years back in the day and it was a reasonable machine, although not very good compared to the modern detectors.
If you can find one try another coil as the cable connections can cause issues. If that doesn't help then it needs to go in the bin.
