Anyone tried it yet?

Hello there !
Yes, it works great for me! I just had to change my DT setting to 2 max. It hits deep. I like the pitch tone in all metal mod, park or field, M2 or M3. In my opinion this version 1.17 improves the detector a lot [81/]
Best regards :;@

Yes ! I think its the best version so far and should have avoided everything after 1.11 as this seams to be a progression and upgrade from that and feel its the update we should have had without having to suffer all that beast mode nonsense. Coins seam to jump out now and find small buttons from really deep that I never seemed to get before.

Get it installed and have a bash, I dont think you will be reverting back anytime soon ... just ensure you FD your saved profiles as this is essential to its use as I have heared if you dont it can screw it up and really hamper its performance.

The only 'FD' I can think of in relation to the Nokta Legend is 'Factory Default' (settings), but perhaps GalwayUK should verify that. 😉

I've downloaded and installed it tonight. Hopefully I'll get out over the next few days to try it out. Good hunting everyone 😀.

Sorry, yes factory default.
Once you have installed the update, go to the profile icon and hold down the pinpoint button. Once the animation has completed it will have cleared all the stored profiles and any changes /saves made will be on the correct version. Best to do this after each update to avoid conflicts between save settings for a different version of the OS your detector is using.

I popped out for a couple of hours this morning onto a well-searched, wet clay, drilled field to see how 1.17 would do. This wasn't any attempt to formally compare 1.17 to previous versions (I was running 1.15) but just to see if it could find anything on a field that produces few non-ferrous targets using otherwise similar settings.

My settings were :-

Field / M3 / Sens 27 / Ground pattern / IF/ST 3/3 / GB by grab / frequently noise cancelling.

Finds included 6 buttons, lead bag seal, odd bits of lead and copper, 2 pistol balls and a heavily clipped hammered penny fragment.

I can't honestly say that any of these would not have come through using the earlier software, but at least the update hasn't messed anything up! I'll try more tweaks next time I get out, but overall I'd say it's worth installing and trying.

Interested in your settings, was there a particular need to regularly noise cancel?

Not really, it's just something I do as I roam around that (and any) field. This particular one, is quite large and has overhead wires at one end and an electric fence down one side (that used to play havoc with a previous detector, but not the Legend) so it just makes sense to check it regularly. I guess I check it, on average, about every 30 minutes or so and the detector's chosen channel often changes.

I'm still on 1.11. It looks like two people see 1.17 as a marked improvement and one sees it as worse. I'd be grateful to hear others' experience of 1.17. Thanks

I will say V1.17 & V1.15 are the same as far as performance. I do appreciate the added 0 IF. I have no reservations about V1.17.

Hi neilpw

I can't say as I'm to concerned about up dating my Legend...it's still on 1.11 as purchased...same as my Simplex, never updated it.

It works...it finds the goodies and I'm happy with it's performance as I am with the Legends.

Just my thoughts.

Regards.
