Generally regarded as a stair rod holder,although I think there strenngtheners off wooden crates. [81/]

Nothing to do with wooden crates! x; ....Modern stair carpet rod anchors all day long. [84/]

Slung out with old/threadbare carpets & burn't in the fields.The ash acting as a fertiliser.

Had these in our house when I was a youngster, one screwed either side of the stair carpet with the 'stair rod' passing through the hole of one to the other [81/] Cheers Eric
