id on a few items please

id on a few items please

hi
i am very new to this about 3 weeks in so any pointers advise on identifying finds etc would be great

well after a lot of messing around with my camera (:| i have some pics i have a few items to post so more to follow

Hi I think

1 is some sort of mount or broach possibly Roman.
2 looks like it is an upholstery tack
3 is a button (ya will find loads of these)
4 not sure but does look like a roman broach I have seen on a finds database (will see if i can find it and post link)

This is what I was thinking about for no 4 however having seen yours in close up I am not so sure now.

I have the same item as your number 4. Here is the FLO explanation

hi thanks for the replies has anyone any other ideas dates etc on items especially the brooch :)
number 5 do you mean its a musket ball mould ??
another pic from the side as you can its concave with little lugs on it

the area where all items have been found goes back to the bronze age also it does have history on all other eras

ok i have also found a couple of hammered coins

(coin 3 ?) ok not sure what this is my first thoughts was a coin it does have a date on it looks like 1653 if you look were the item is flattened on pic 2 (the item is 2 inch in diameter)

a bit of advise on cleaning this please i think it maybe another coin but do not want to damage it it like a crust around it

Hi "coin" 1 is a jetton looks like Neurenburg issue pictures not to clear.

thanks for the info i will google to see if i can locate/date the coin now i have something to go on the only word i can clearly see is (SANY) thanks again

i really need better pics of coin / jeton 1 and coin / jeton 2

can not remember which is which, one is a jeton and one is a hammered, need better pics for ID

thanks tomcat for the info :)

i have had a play with my camera again today its a bit hit and miss or more to the point i am :( i am going to get a scanner in the next week or so :)

i have taken a few more pics of the jeton i have found if you hold the ctrl button then scroll with the mouse wheel you can really zoom in
