First time out on the beach with ace 250

Post by Tekka »

Detector arrived today so after dropping the wife at work I headed to a local beach. Set the detector to all metal just to get the hang of it with the sensitivity knocked back 2 bars as recommended. The very first find was a yogurt pot with the silver foil still on yuk! Next was a 10p piece buried about 6" a lot of people say the garret is not good on the wet sand but I found an old can that was a good 7-8" down, so I was happy it found it that deep. I also found a lot of what look like stones but they were a rusty colour, and the steel works are right off the beach so I assume some kind of iron ore. The time flew by and the distance I walked surprised me somewhat. Nothing to shout about first time out but I enjoyed it :D

Note to self when digging close to the water keep an eye on the tide as I got soaked by one wave :P
