Although some functionality can be 'driven' by the headphones, not all of it can. This will mean some settings won't be available even though the 'technology' exists in the coil.

I rarely switch on the control unit nowadays but this is because I've set all that stuff already.

Will be interesting to see how this works out........

The RRP is £1399 but most places are doing them for £1200 now. Still a lot of money granted!!

XP are selling them to shops for much less than that. I think a fair price considering its all new revolutionary product. R&D is expensive you know.

R&D is more than covered by the price XP sell to the distributors for. It's the 30%+ profit margin I object to.

Looks a nice way to get into the Deus market, i wondered why they didn't do it from the start but they have had a good run on the full price machines so perhaps sales have slowed down and they are offering to a different type of buyer.

Profit Margin may be 30% but you take out the guy has to advertise on the net or in Magazines
Run a shop, business rates , pay wages, i should say staff get pretty tied up with customers both in the shops and on the phones, storage, postage offer 0% finance when they have probably had to borrow the money in the first place that soon brings the profit down then you have damages and returns.

I would think they are lucky to get 12-15% profit on a sale, perhaps not even that much, they cant be expected to do it for nothing.
IMHO
My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure.

You get what you pay for folks. ;)

I would not dream of getting half the kit. ;;z

Better to go on using what you have and save up the extra or buy a used complete machine.Jerry. ::g

Any one using the lite version with just the control box,if so what,s your opinion, do you still get good tone quality through wired headphones ? you can get this cheaper version for £950 and seems to me a better way of starting out with the deus than the other lite version as a lot of people have stated you loose a lot of funtion tweeks etc. without the control.......
