Oh no John .... Iron I do NOT want, some of my fields have too much iron and I was looking for a way to avoid it (as most of us do). I think the answer from cbfn is very interesting and very quick so might be of great use to me, at least it will be worth a try. Cheers for now.

cbfn wrote:SAy your detecting in gmp,you come upon a target you think is iron ,press the minus key once so your in basic 1.Then press menu scroll down to freq press and using the minus key again change to 4khz press return twice.Your now in basic one in 4khz much better for id on iron, and only one button away from gmp your original search mode. This procedure is very quick in the field.
This seems pretty straight forward and as you say 'quick in the field'. Thanks for the tip cbfn, I will certainly give it a go next time out as the Deus is so very easy to flick through settings.

Also if you,ve got a fairly clean site,Try setting discrim to 0 and notching o-6,upping your sens to 95,
Two tone starting from 30-35,dig all the high signals , I use 18khz but get good depth on these settings.Sometimes its worth digging those 98 signals to.
