Hi Stu, absolutely brilliant finds.
Im slowly going back in time on the Humber got what looks like a Henry 11 short cross today but still a 1000 years newer than your brooch lol. Well done mate!

You must be well overdue some quality finds Mark. He has only been a few yards away when most of the bling has been dug. Even when i dug the brooch today he was 15 foot away working the same areasfindyaown wrote:stu that one of yours is a belter very nice now cleaned up

Mark has one Andy, He likes it. I just think they are overpriced and over rated, Theres a couple lads in the East Riding looking for a CS4pi if you decide to sell, Next time you come up the beach try Marks and compare it with your pibainsey wrote:I would be chuffed with that roman broach stu,.great find and well dug mate.
Im being tempted to the dark side and thinking of getting a sov to use on beach as well as land
Andy

Horses for Courses Andy, the PI has it's place on the beach but a discriminating motion machine is great for the top of the beach and high ferrous areas and land use. I bet that Stu using the PI is finding the most gold but Mark's Sov is finding more coins.bainsey wrote:I would be chuffed with that roman broach stu,.great find and well dug mate.

the sov is a good detector but as you say stu they are over priced but hold there secondhand value, east coast stu wrote:Mark has one Andy, He likes it. i like the sov but they can take a bit of getting use to ,but once you have mastered it they are a good detector .the other day i got loads of coins out from amongst a load of iron ferrous crap ,it has a very slow recovery rate and you have to listen very carefully to pick out the good signals as the threshold dips out and goes in to low tone. just listen for a peak tone in amongst the spaghetti
