Check the map on the Crown Estate pages - most of them cover large areas so it is quite easy to get a straight yes/no http://www.thecrownestate.co.uk/coastal ... detecting/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (the same site you got your permit from)

If you need a little more info send the Crown Estate an email - I have always found them to be very helpful and have sent through more detailed maps every time I have asked - and that's a few now as I am in Scotland and only England/Wales are on their site

Looks purple all the way to the mouth of the river to the east of Abergele

Porth Madog also looks very purple - including a long way up the river

Hi Lawrence you are ok on the beaches at Abergele but don't expect to find much of value usually modern coins and fishing weights, I go along where the sand joins the pebbles you will get plenty of signals so ideal to learn your machine and you might just get lucky.A friend of mine has a caravan at black rock sands the beach is vast, best to try at top where people have been sitting be prepared to dig dozens of ring pulls .There is a small beach at Borth-y-Guest on way to Black Rock you bear to left at right hand bend on way to B R there is a sandy area below a wall where everyone sits ,not been there with detector but it looks good. Talacre beach is a good beach to practice on as use to be used in ww2 for target pratice. The dunes are out of bound.

What detector are you using

Tesoro Lobo Is very good on very small objects so you should be able to find jewellery on the beach.
