Another session,silver..gold?

Post by yellow »

Hiya all....

I'd posted recently about a beach patch I'd found, that had gave up lots of coins and the odd ring etc,all in the space of eleven hours.
Me and tomo, also had a wander down one night and managed a few bits...one of mine was a double sided pendant,I'm unsure what its made of,but too encrusted with sand to take a decent pic of,but the heads remind me of roman?
There has been Saxon stuff found years ago here,so you never know?

Had a couple of hours yesterday, managed a handful of coins, another brass/gold ring ,a silver st Christopher and something that once contained stones...I also got a locket, which will probably be brass, although why go to the effort if its made of cheap stuff?

Any thoughts about the finds more than welcome, thanks for looking.
I've also ordered a set of electronic scales so I can try barnets density method on the last few rings found down there, should confirm if brass or gold,so worth the money if its proper bling lol

That would make sense as the gold guinea was along the edge of the the rocks too as the tide action pushed them along and they had to stop somewhere eventually

Cheers phil OooO

Nice to have the option of land or beach mate,I must admit.
Lately I've been hitting the sand as its five minutes from me,so I can choose when to go/come home...fits in well with a busy job etc.
