Best of luck mate ::g
I got a similar cannon only twice that size on my 8th day of my initiation with a detector. It was in very good condition. A friend who was introducing me to detecting was present. He was quite B| But he had the last laugh on finding 2 Hammies plus two silver Victoria's x;

They are indeed cracking finds, well done. Could someone explain how these things worked, was it a case of putting a little round cap in then releasing a trigger, or what??

At the time these cannons were made gunpowder was sold loose for muzzle loading guns. A small measure of this gunpowder, a projectile (like a small bit of lead shot which was also sold loose), apply a light and BOOM. God knows how many kids were injured doing this ?? ;;z Found 4 of these cannons so far in various sizes and one looks like it blew up !!
