Hi Guys, well stacks of coins .. over 60 .. £2, £1, 20p's, 10p's loads of 2p's loads of 1p's 10 cent euro. No gold, No artefacts but a pleasant afternoon albeit I had forgot how much hard work and how mucky the foreshore searching is.

All the coinage is modern and generally directly under the humber bridge. My belief is that the many tourists who walk over the bridge throw money over the edge into the river as kind of a wishing well thing. All the gold and silver rings come from the same area so I believe this is couples falling out and throwing their rings over

Lots of lucky wishes off the bridge, but the tight b'stards who throw the 2s and 1s annoy me.

Andy, the area around the deep is very historic, the old harbour timbers can be seen but the mud and silt is very deep. Not tried myself and would only do so on a very low tide and never alone. Crown foreshore licence is all you need. See the link to the map which just shows how old Hull as been remodelled.
