First gold off the beach

Post by housed »

Went back to beach I went to earlier in week when I found a load of silver predecimals. This time a load of fishing weights, 23 in all which is my record. Also found my first ever gold ring, not the prettiest but can't moan! It's 9cts. Also found a little silver ring which I don't think is to old as has the letters ...'erling' which I'm guessing is sterling. Has I think a makers mark which have posted in ID section. Also found 5.20 in spends, 2 euros and 20 odd predecimals.

Ty for looking

I finished on £4.39 and 11 pre decimal and there is the manliest grottiest silver sixpence in there iv ever seen lol I would almost say it's a fake. Don't no who would go to the effort of faking a sixpence from 1941 but there u go. Was a good day.

There were regularly faked along with shillings by putting lots of layers of tinfoil in a die and using a high powered press. The heat generated by the press used to fuse them together
