Deus does well on beach

Post by SteveAlan »

I was out for a few hours today with the Deus. I'm really impressed how well it does on the beach. I found a button in the wet sand and all these coins in the dry/semi-dry sand near the waterline.

It's all modern coinage but there was an American 10 cent piece. And an earring.

I had discrim turned up to 67 a lot of the time because of the frustration of digging ring pulls and aluminium. You'll see that because of the discrim level I didn't get any 5p or 10p coins but I was able to accept that when the pound coins and 20p coins were coming through a lot.

Here are the coins. I actually found a couple more but spent them on ice creams.

It's a great all round machine.

Will you not be discriminating rings if you are discriminating ring pulls?

I suppose some rings could be missed, yes. But it's something I'm willing to accept when I am digging, literally, a ring pull or aluminium pieces every minute.

An alternative approach could be to keep discrim low and use the target ID to avoid signals in that ring pull range (usually around high 50s and low 60s).

If rings are still in that ring pull range, I'd miss them still but if they are in the 40s and 50s, I might be tempted to dig them. Any other tips?

Cheers <:-P

You could notch out 50 to 65ish and then you still hear the lower one's.
Maybe have Disc on about 20ish so no iron is heard as well.

It's only the gold rings you discriminate - leaving more for the others. d;
